Fretting, life a treasure
ruby steel and so
much anew,
a shade of
blue, two
copper vines.

Nothing divine,
Iknow not
those kind words, but
all each a part
of who I am.

I know less now about regret
cooked in ovens, temperature at
the gate.

Life a mastery so divine
words and feelings intertwine
a vine a token a loyal guest

I like the creative ways you find to communicate your ideas and feelings. This ending is profound, how can we ascertain the truth of life ever fluxing river? It would be tempting to try to bring time to a halt,we could, you say, and I find this my favorite verse... and if I will, but silk, softness, natural things that breatn, quite a luxury these days, will never be it. The other symbolism is for whom does the bell toll? What is so important to cause such a big announcement to the whole town? and then this incisive closing imagery: ice holds or molds....does life mold us into who we are, or does it holds who we are all along...I have to hand it to you, lluviadeabril, I am in awe at this great poem!

Well thank you ERA -

I am a huge fan of classic literature (American in this case) his literature is affixed to certain corners of my mind. His influence seeps through (though not my intention).. I just write and I am flattered that this poem has your awe. The truth is that imagery is molded by every reader depending on so many things -what the mind holds, for example, is the first instrument that brings life to even "copper vines." (my ode to Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath).

A pleasure to have your company.

A hug.
