    WINTER GHOST

    A white crystal rain
    falls over the glade;
    a soft velvet veil
    that dresses the graves.

    A freezing wind blows
    and whispers a song;
    the night gets so cold;
    the streams flow no more.

    The light of two lamps
    reveals what's behind
    the tombs and their dark:
    the shade of a man.

    Bare feet, a few rags,
    silent lips, shaking hands.
    Sad face, doomy eyes,
    something hurts deep inside.

    He opens his arms
    and looks at my eyes;
    I run to his lap
    and hold him so tight;

    and then there's a smile
    and tears in our eyes,
    but suddenly now
    he fades like a lie.

    He's just a ghost,
    I'm just a man,
    so weak and small,
    a mortal one.

    I see the stars
    and start to cry,
    I say -good bye,
    I love you dad-    ​
